$340M Sports and Entertainment Precinct DA Lodged with Randwick Council

By Planning Desk·

A development application seeking approval for a $340 million sports and entertainment precinct has been lodged with Randwick City Council, proposing a 15,000-seat multi-purpose arena, two boutique hotels, and a network of restaurants and retail outlets.

The application, lodged by a joint venture between private developers and the University of New South Wales, also includes a proposal to construct 450 residential apartments across three towers ranging in height from 12 to 24 storeys.

Randwick Mayor Councillor Murray proposes the DA be called in by the Independent Planning Commission given its state-significant nature, which would transfer the decision-making authority from council to the Commission.

Community consultation sessions are scheduled for June, with submissions open for 45 days from the date of public exhibition.
